We all have to make decisions from time to time.Some decisions are agreed upon by all, whereas some decisions are not liked by all.

Here, I would like to talk about a decision, which was made by my two friends Raman and Sunder, when we were in 10th class. They decided to bunk school and go to watch a movie in a multiplex.I disagreed strongly. First of all, the idea of bunking school did not seem right to me. Then, going for a movie without parents’ permission was out of question as far as my thinking was concerned.I advised them to go for the movie on a Sunday, in the morning show, after taking permission from our parents. But they were adamant, and were forcing me also to accompany them.I was in a dilemma, as I did not want to disappoint my friends.But, my father is very strict.I knew that if he found out, he would be very upset and may even not talk to me for days.I could not even bear to think of that.So, I said a firm no to my friends and again tried to dissuade them from bunkingschool. They, however, did not agree and went for the movie. I remember, I felt very light at heart for not going with them.I cannot even think of lying to my parents, or hiding anything from them.So, this was the decision made by my friends which I did not like.

Let me talk about my plans for this upcoming Christmas holiday.

Just a few weeks ago, my friend in Argentina contacted me and told me that he and his family are planning to visit the San Francisco Bay Area during the holidays. Since he is one of my best childhood friends and I've been living in the area for several years, I didn't hesitate and offered to be their tour guide.

They plan to stay here for only a week, and my plan is to drive my SUV and take them to some of the most popular tourist spots within the city of San Francisco, which includes the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, and the Coit Tower. I'm also thinking to spend a day to tour some of the most famous wineries in the Napa Valley. And if they are up for longer drives, I'm also willing to take them to Lake Tahoe and the Yosemite National Park.

I've always been good at making travel arrangements. As soon as my friend can confirm their dates, I will start doing research on hotels and restaurants, and try to come up with a detailed itinerary so that they can know what to expect during their stay.

Oh, since they will be here during the winter, which tends to be rainy and snowy, I will also have to constantly check on the weather forecast and make changes if necessary. The point is to be safe throughout the entire trip and find alternatives if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Okay. Let me tell you about my experience last summer when we visited my grandparents in a village in Shandong Province.

My grandparents’ village is by the Huang He River. In the first 2 days there, everything was still fresh, the woods, the water, the lotus leaves, the pond, the cattle, the fields and the cicada hunting. And then boredom started to haunt me. It was hot and there was no air conditioner and few entertainments were available.

One summer afternoon, my cousin Daniel and I were wandering along the river bank wondering what to do to kill this boring summer afternoon. All of a sudden, Daniel got an idea. He told me we should have a competition, which took me by surprise. In that heat and in that kingdom of boredom, what competition could we have, to see who could survive longer standing in the burning sun without drinking any water? He proceeded by explaining that we should each dig a piece of mud, make it into a shape of a bowl, cast it onto the ground upside down and then see whose bowl make the biggest sound. It sounded stupid in the beginning and failed to intrigue me. But when Daniel jumped into the river and did as he explained, I decided to try. It honestly felt awesome to have hands and feet inside the cool mud and water. And the explosion of the mud bowl miraculous excited me.

Ok, well I’d say my favourite weather would have to be sunny weather, which I guess is the same for most people.

And as for when this weather usually occurs, well unfortunately, not often enough! Because where I’m from, it seems to rain the whole time, and when it’s not raining, the sky’s usually quite cloudy, so we don’t really get all that much sun in my hometown, but hopefully this year will be a bit better – fingers crossed!

Anyway, regarding what I usually do when it’s sunny, well I guess it probably depends on how much free time I have. So I mean, if I only have a little bit of free time, then I might just go for a walk around my neighbourhood or chill out for a bit in the gardens of my apartment complex. And if I have more time, then I might arrange to play some tennis or basketball with a few friends, although if it’s too hot then I probably wouldn’t bother.

And with regard to how this kind of weather affects me, well basically, I’d say it normally always puts me in a good mood. So for example, waking up with the sun shining through the windows is always a great feeling, as I’m sure you’ll agree. And another thing to mention would be that the traffic usually tends to be better on sunny days than rainy days, so it means that I can get to work quicker. It’s funny, because it always seems that there are more cars on the road on rainy days, which I can never quite figure out!

Anyway, finally then, as for why I like sunny weather the most, well, I suppose it’s really a combination of reasons, one of which would be that there are generally more things you can do when the sun's out, like playing sport and walking around outside without getting wet! And as I mentioned a bit earlier, it’s much easier getting around when it’s sunny, for example, the roads are less congested and it’s normally a lot easier to find a taxi, as you may have found out yourself!

So yeah, I guess that pretty much sums it up, and I wish I could wake up to a bright sunny day every morning!

I always have a dream to visit Alaska in Winter to see the Polar light once. Alaska, where is famous

for natural scenery, is the largest state in United States by area. It is situated in the northwest extremity of North America. The temperature there mostly remains below zero degree Celsius, which leads to the fact that the majority parts of state are usually covered by snow. I wish I can travel to Alaska during the future Winter break even though it would be the coldest period in a year, because to see a real aurora will be one of the best moments in my life.

In order to accomplish this trip, it is necessary to have enough preparations, especially for self-protection, like preparing enough clothes to stay warm and learning self-salvation when accidents happened. The best partner I can think of would be my girlfriend. It would be a fantastic experience to memorize for both of us. Imaging that together we traveled such North to see such magnificent

landscapes with our lovers, nothing can be better than this.

Every time I saw aurora was either pictures in magazines or geographic channels on TV, I long for seeing and standing in front of polar light once for telling myself "oh my god, I see it for real". It is something that human cannot create and normal people cannot see often. It is magic that nature performs. On the other hand, Alaska is a perfect place to enjoy the winter, the snow, the mountains, the forest, and everything together become the wonderful landscapes.
