Describe an occasion when you got up extremely early
You shouldsay:
When you got up
What you did thatday
Why you got upearly
And explain how you felt about it
When it comes to an occasion when I got up extremely early, I would like to talk about one morningspent last semester, when I registered for a morning reading organized by my English teacher. Lastsemester, Mr. Li, our English teacher, organized a special morning reading session for seniorstudents, hoping to urge them to review what they had learned and preview new knowledge.
Although showing no interest at the beginning, I was invited by Mr. Li, who was so enthusiastic that(太热情以至于) I could barely say no. Therefore, I accepted his kind invitation reluctantly, with a hope (希望,表伴随) that heavy rain could come in time so that the morning reading would becanceled. Unfortunately, my childish wish failed me(未能如愿), and I got up at half past six the nextmorning. Soon after I got up, I joined the morning reading along with other invitees. During thewhole morning, we were absorbed in intensive reading and listening practices, and previewed theknowledge scheduled to be taught next week. Well, I will not deny the fact that when I first got upat half past six, I was not feeling great since I was sleepy and weary. However, as the morningreading went on, I found myself in a rewarding environment where I was able to memorize what I learned and discover new knowledge, which was impossible back in the days(在之前的日子里)when I slept until 12 o’clock. What I am saying is, I felt it was worthwhile getting up so early and I felt like I should have gotten up that early long ago.
1.Have you ever met a celebrity/superstar in real life?
Yes, I have! But it was quite unintentional. It was about three years ago, my friends and I went to the cinema for the latest movie. When we were waiting outside, suddenly a sharp scream caughtmy attention. Then I found that there was a large group of people holding posters in their handsand among them was a famous actor. That is how I met a celebrity accidentally.
2.Who is your favourite movie star?
I think Tom Cruise is probably the movie star who can attract my attention most. His appearance and acting skills are the most appealing things to me. In the movie series Mission: Impossible, hisexcellent performance really impressed me. By the way, his latest movie also made me more respectful to him because he did lots of extremely difficult movements although he is almost 60-year-old.
3.Are international superstars popular in your country?
I suppose so. As more and more international movies and TV programs are being introduced into Chinese market, we have more exposure to foreign superstars so undoubtedly, they are gaining popularity in China. Most of my friends are passionate about some international celebrities like Mr.Bean, Nicole Kidman and of course, my favorite actor Tom Cruise.
4.Do you want to be a superstar?
Definitely no! Being a celebrity means that I might lose my privacy and I really detest the feeling of being stared by the paparazzi. And it is very likely that I would be criticized by some people who know me only from the distorted reports in the attention-grabbing tabloids. Although being famous can bring a large amount of money, I still don't want to sacrifice my personal life.
